How much does Simple Chat cost?
Simple Chat has no monthly subscription charge or per-seat fee. You pay for conversations resolved by AI, in USD through Shopify billing.

Both plans have a $5,000 usage cap per 30-day billing period, starting when you accept billing. If you reach the cap, Simple Chat can continue resolving conversations without additional usage charges for that period.
When you're charged
A conversation must close as AI-resolved, with at least one customer-visible AI reply and no customer-visible staff reply since it opened or was last reopened. Internal staff notes don't disqualify an AI resolution. A reopened conversation can qualify again based on the new activity.
Choosing a plan
Both plans use the same models: Claude Haiku 5.5 for replies, and Claude Opus 5.5 for the topics where your AI resolved 80% or less of your closed conversations in the last 7 days. Premium adds the staff-admin assistant, which includes the dashboard overlay and scheduled reviews. See which models Simple Chat uses for the details.
You can switch plans in Billing. Shopify asks you to approve the new rate before it takes effect.
Development stores can test free. Live stores need a paid usage plan.
