Shopify keeps the order. ShipHero keeps warehouse truth. Simple Chat reads both in the same chat or email so the assistant can close fulfillment tickets instead of escalating them. These pages do not recommend uninstalling Shopify products.
1
Shopify Admin
Order of record — keep this
Shopify Admin remains the order system of record: who bought, what they bought, payment, fulfillment orders, and the tracking emails Shopify already sends. Keep it. ShipHero does not replace Shopify’s order screen, and Simple Chat does not move fulfillment off Shopify. The assistant still verifies the shopper against the Shopify order before it talks about warehouse state.
What it owns. Included with Shopify.

ShipHero WMS
Warehouse truth Shopify does not store
When you fulfill in ShipHero, the facts that close tickets live in the warehouse, not only on the Shopify order. ShipHero holds include address, client, fraud, operator, and payment. Line items show allocated, shipped, and backorder quantity. Shipments carry labels, carriers, and tracking URLs. Shopify can still say “unfulfilled” while the warehouse has already allocated, labeled, or blocked the order. That gap is why a Shopify-only lookup cannot close the ticket.
What it owns. Your existing ShipHero warehouse. Simple Chat does not replace ShipHero.

Simple Chat joins them
One inbox that can see and act on both
Connect ShipHero with an API key in Simple Chat settings. The warehouse is detected from the ShipHero account (one warehouse per connection; if the account has several, the first is used). After that, chat and email can pull warehouse-level fulfillment context where ShipHero returns it: item status, shipment details, labels, and tracking URLs. The assistant can see address holds and client holds, validate a shipping address when an address hold is blocking the warehouse, and release a client hold after the shopper or staff unblocks the order. Address-hold release still belongs in ShipHero when the warehouse requires it. Without ShipHero configured, support still uses Shopify data.
What the connection adds. $0.29 per AI-closed conversation. No extra ShipHero add-on fee.
4
Monitoring across both systems
Tickets that need time, not a guessed date
Many warehouse tickets are not finished in one reply: a label exists but the carrier has not scanned, an address hold is waiting on a corrected address, or a backorder has not allocated. Monitoring schedules a check-in, then re-runs Shopify order status and ShipHero warehouse state. The assistant updates the customer, keeps waiting, closes, or escalates. It does not invent a delivery date when neither system has one. That follow-up loop is how in-transit and pending-warehouse work leaves the human queue.
What happens next. Included in support. $0.29 only when AI closes the conversation.
