Can I schedule FAQs?

Yes. Each FAQ in Simple Chat can have start and end dates, as well as start and end times, so content automatically turns on and off without manual edits on the first or last day of a campaign.

Scheduling is ideal when the right answer depends on the calendar—not year-round policy.

What scheduling controls

For each FAQ you can define a visibility window using:

  • Start date and end date — which days the FAQ is active
  • Start time and end time — finer control within those days when needed

Outside the window, that FAQ is not treated as active for the AI in the same way as during the window (so seasonal or promotional wording does not linger past its intended period).

Common use cases

  • Seasonal FAQs — holiday shipping cutoffs, summer hours, or gift-wrap availability
  • Limited-time promotions — sale terms, coupon rules, or bundle explanations that expire
  • Temporary notices — short policy changes, pop-up warehouse delays, or event-specific instructions

Announcements and regular FAQs can both use schedules; pair urgent announcements with tight end dates when the incident is resolved.

How to set a schedule

  1. Open Simple ChatSettings → FAQs.
  2. Select the FAQ you want to time-bound (or create a new one).
  3. Set start and end dates—and times if your window needs hour-level precision.
  4. Save. The FAQ activates and deactivates on that schedule automatically.

Scheduling is configured in the app. CSV import brings in question, answer, topic, and type; add or adjust date and time windows after import on each entry that needs them.

Operational tips

  • Review scheduled FAQs before peak seasons so start dates are not a day late.
  • When a promotion ends early, shorten the end date instead of leaving stale answers live.
  • Duplicate a prior season’s FAQ and update dates rather than rewriting from scratch each year.
