Does Simple Chat work with Shopify Flow?
You don't need Shopify Flow to run Simple Chat. Core support automation comes from three places: Simple Chat itself, your Shopify data, and optional integrations such as ShipHero. Flow is not required for the support automation described on this site.
Where the automation comes from
Simple Chat covers the storefront widget, the inbox, the AI, tools, monitoring, and staff handoff. Shopify data supplies products, orders, customers, policies, and the related synced context the AI answers from. Optional integrations add depth where you need it, ShipHero being the example when warehouse-level fulfillment detail matters.
Install, configure your tools and instructions, and run support from the dashboard. There's no parallel Flow dependency to build or babysit.
If Flow is already on your store
Plenty of merchants run Shopify Flow for separate automations: metafields, tags, internal ops. That's fine, and nothing changes. Flow can coexist on your store for other apps and custom pipelines, and core Simple Chat behavior (answering customers, using enabled tools, monitoring, escalation) doesn't depend on any Flow trigger to function.
So keep Flow for your non-chat workflows if you have them. Just don't build any as a prerequisite for adopting Simple Chat, because there isn't one.
