Can I import and export FAQs?
Yes, both directions, as CSV. Export your library from Settings > FAQs, edit it in a spreadsheet, and import it back. Import and export share the same column structure, so a file you exported is already in the right shape to re-import after you fix typos, add rows, or reorganize topics.
The CSV format
| Column | Notes |
|---|---|
| question | Customer-facing or match-oriented question text |
| answer | The reply the AI treats as authoritative |
| topic | Optional grouping label |
| type | faq or announcement |
Keep the column headers intact and the type values valid, or the import won't succeed.
Scheduling doesn't travel in the file
Start and end dates, and start and end times, are not CSV columns. You set them in Simple Chat after import, or when editing an entry individually. This is the part that trips people up: if you rely on scheduled windows, re-importing content won't set or update those schedules from the spreadsheet. Plan to open the affected entries and verify their dates after each import.
When to use which
CSV is for bulk work: backups, migrations between environments, big offline edits, reviews with your support lead, version control in shared drives. In-app editing is for scheduling, one-off fixes, and testing how a single new FAQ changes replies.
