Is there a free tier?

Simple Chat is not free on production stores in the sense of unlimited use at $0. Merchants can still evaluate the product before paying usage charges: development stores can use the app free of charge while testing. When a store goes live, usage-based billing applies.

No permanent free production use

There is no ongoing free option for production stores outside development testing.

• Live billing uses usage-based pricing: $0.99 per AI resolution.
• Usage charges are subject to the 30-day usage cap of $5,000 per billing period starting when you accept billing.
• There is no monthly subscription charge; cost scales with AI-resolved segments.

“Free” in marketing terms here means development testing—not unlimited production use at $0.

Development stores

Development stores can use Simple Chat free of charge while testing.

• Build and rehearse flows without usage-based app charges during development.
• Validate integrations, messaging, and staff handoff before customers see the live experience.

Going live and usage billing

When a store goes live, usage-based billing applies:

• $0.99 per AI resolution.
• The $5,000 cap per 30-day billing period (from billing acceptance) still limits usage charges.

Plan for per-conversation billing once you exit development-only testing on a production store.
